Constitution of UKMA

The UKMA constitution was formally agreed by postal ballot in early 2002. Further minor amendments were approved at subsequent AGMs. A basic summary of content follows:

  • Object of the association and legitimate methods to achieve it
  • Types of membership and eligibility to join
  • Makeup of the committee, its powers and responsibilities
  • Rules and procedures for election of committee members and the conduct of formal meetings
  • Rules concerning membership subscriptions
  • Financial arrangements for managing the funds of the association
  • General meetings of the association including AGM
  • Rules for the disposal of assets in the event of winding up the association
