A chef and broadcaster

Rick Stein

Apart from a fleeting nostalgia, once in a blue moon, for yards inches and ounces, the reality is I no longer think in Imperial measures and would regard the reintroduction of them as absurdly complicated.

Rick Stein CBE is an Oxfordshire-born and Cornwall-based celebrity chef, restaurateur, writer and television presenter. He runs the Stein hotel and restaurant business in the UK. The business started with the renowned Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, Cornwall, in 1975, and now includes restaurants, shops and hotels in Cornwall, along with other restaurants in Dorset, Marlborough, Winchester and London. He is also the head chef and a co-owner of the Rick Stein at Bannisters restaurants in Mollymook and Port Stephens in Australia.

Among his many award-winning publications are English Seafood Cookery, Rick Stein’s Food Heroes, and Rick Stein’s Complete Seafood. His most recent books are Rick Stein at Home and Rick Stein’s Secret France. He is also well known for his many TV series, covering cuisine from all over the world. His most recent project is Rick Stein’s Cornwall, currently running on BBC2.
